Product description: Ratron® Poison Wheat is a fast-acting, ready-to-use bait containing the active ingredient zinc phosphide (25 g/kg) for controlling field mice. Ratron® Poison Wheat is largely moisture-resistant and non-germinating. A new formulation technology prevents the active ingredient from off-gassing before the bait is ingested. This significantly reduces mouse shyness and provides additional protection for the user. The full efficacy and attractiveness are maintained until the mice consume the bait. After ingestion, the active ingredient zinc phosphide is released in the mice's stomachs by the stomach acid, producing phosphine (hydrogen phosphorus). Phosphine is a very potent metabolic and neurotoxin and kills mice within 1 to approximately 3 hours. The active ingredient is completely broken down and therefore cannot cause secondary poisoning. To control field mice, scatter 5 grains of Ratron® Poison Wheat into each mouse hole. This dosage corresponds to an application rate of approximately 2 kg/ha for moderate infestations. Using a poison gun for the concealed application of Ratron® poison wheat into mouse holes significantly reduces the time required compared to other methods. Furthermore, application with a poison gun is less risky for the user, as they have virtually no contact with the bait. It should be noted that open placement is prohibited. This means that Ratron® Poison Wheat, like any other poison wheat product, must not be scattered over the ground but only applied covertly (underground). For controlling field mice by scattering, Ratron® Field Mouse Bait is recommended if a permit according to §11.2 of the Plant Protection Act and a permit from the local plant protection service have been obtained.
