The AVR features a droop CT connection for parallel operation with other similarly equipped generators. SX440 is a two-phase sensed Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) and forms part of the excitation system for a brushless generator. The AVR senses voltage in the main generator winding and controls the current supplied to the exciter stator, thereby regulating the main rotor field to maintain generator output voltage within specified limits—compensating for load changes, temperature variations, and generator power factor.
